Faces In The News...

...if the"Cap and Tax Spend Trade" Bill is so great, why aren't these men smiling? (One or two are smirking maybe?)

Maybe because Speaker Nancy Pelosi followed John Boehner's galant one man effort to stall the vote as callers jammed Congress phone lines, and closed the debate. She spoke only briefly to urge passage. "Just remember these four words: Jobs, jobs, jobs and jobs," she said, reinforcing her party's portrayal of the bill as good for the economy. And when the forces of unintended results kicks in as it usually does on any government run project, you can kiss those "Jobs, jobs, jobs and jobs" goodbye.
I think we have our strongest 2004 election talking point yet!

Also, remember Mr. Obama's campaign promise to "not raise taxes on anyone making less than $250K 125K? Well David Axelrod, President Obama's top political adviser, refused today to rule out the possibility that the White House might agree to a tax hike on health insurance plans that would hit middle-income Americans.

On today's "This Week" on ABC he declined to repeat Obama's "firm pledge" during the campaign that families making under $250,000 will not see "any form of tax increase, not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes." ~ From Washington Post
