Alleged Jimi Hendrix sex tape to be released

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Vivid Entertainment is releasing a sex tape allegedly starring Jimi Hendrix. The Los Angeles-based adult entertainment company said they obtained the sex tape from a memorabilia collector.

The 11 minutes of footage, reportedly shot in a hotel room about 40 years ago, features Hendrix - or someone who looks like him - engaged in various sexual acts with two women.

The company said they consulted with experts to authenticate the footage. But Charles R. Cross, author of the Hendrix biography "Room Full of Mirrors," has seen the film and doubts the man is Hendrix.

Cross said the face and nostrils of the man depicted in the video don't match Hendrix. He also said the man in the tape is wearing more rings that Hendrix was known to wear.

"This is somebody that looks like Jimi or is pretending to look like him, but it certainly didn't look like a dead-on match to me," Cross told The Associated Press during a telephone interview Tuesday.

Bush says tax rebates to go out next week!

Great, now I can use my $1,500.00 to buy a tank of gas and some groceries!

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush said tax rebates will start going out Monday, earlier than previously announced, and should help Americans cope with rising gasoline and food prices, as well as aid a slumping economy.
"Starting Monday, the effects of the stimulus will begin to reach millions of households across our country," Bush said Friday in remarks on the South Lawn of the White House.
The Internal Revenue Service had been saying direct deposits wouldn't start until next Friday. Bush said paper checks would begin going out on May 9, a week earlier than previously announced.
"The money is going to help Americans offset the high prices we're seeing at the gas pump, the grocery store, and also give our economy a boost to help us pull out of this economic slowdown," Bush said.
Bush's emphasis on fuel and food prices differed from other comments he's made since signing the economic stimulus legislation, intended to aid the economy by boosting overall consumer spending—which accounts for roughly two-thirds of the nation's economic activity.

By the way, McCain, Obama, nor Clinton are not the answer to the situation.
At least music is still cheap!

As gas prices hit new record highs this week,House Republican leaders on Tuesday challenged Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to release a plan to lower gas prices that they say Democrats touted when they were in the minority. In a press release dated April 24, 2006, Pelosi said, “Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price gouging, rolling back the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, tax breaks and royalty relief given to big oil and gas companies, and increasing production of alternative fuels.” The letter cited policies put in place during the GOP control of Congress that the Speaker claimed had raised prices on American consumers to benefit oil companies.
Gasoline prices have spiked $1.18 since Democrats took over in January and stands at an average of over $3.51 per gallon with forecasts of $4.00 plus gasoline this summer.

Also,prices at the pump also include 18.4 cents per gallon in federal taxes and a national average of 23.6 cents per gallon in state taxes! If the federal or state governments were truly concerned about rising gas costs they would act to abolish gas taxes and burdensome energy industry regulations!
