With all the buzz about FIAT being the savior of Chrysler, I began to wonder if anyone would actually remember the quality of FIAT automobiles? Well, you're reading the ramblings of one such being mentioned in the title. And we are scarce, just like hen's teeth and "buck and a quarter" gas. The reason we're so scarce is anyone who actually owned one FIAT, was highly unlikely to own a second, because quality was an unknown term around the factory.

Now FIAT is "bringing technology to the table ..." according to White House staffers, which means if you buy one of the great autos, the floor will most likely collect about one inch of water every time it rains and if you run over anything over four inches high, the radiator pipe drain nut will get knocked off and your coolant will empty itself from the system. At least that's my experience with my cars from these masters of technology. "FIAT, Feds, and UAW...another brainchild of Big Government!

To celebrate Obama’s 100th day in office, the majority of television networks hosted an "Obamaganza" which was viewed by 28.8 million people, according to the Nielsen pollsters. That's a 29% drop from the president's last press conference, on March 24, and a 42% fall since his first, on Feb. 9.

Ten of the eleven "major" networks carried the telecast, and Fox elected to run its detective drama Lie to Me instead which may have confused many since the title could have also been used for the soft ball press conference. The ten networks airing the President's teleprompted speech averaged 2.8 million viewers each, while 7.8 million chose to watch the Fox Network's programming.

GM announced it is ending the production of Pontiac after 80 years, many of those years as GM's "Performance Division" and in addition the company could be majority owned by the federal government if a restructuring plan introduced Monday is implemented. It offers to swap roughly $27 billion in bond debt for GM stock and leaves current shareholders owning only 1 percent of company. The federal government would take more than 50 percent of common stock in exchange for canceling half the government loans to the company. Also, GM is offering stock to the UAW Union for at least 50 percent of the $20 billion the company must pay into a union run trust that will take over retiree health care expenses starting next year. If both are successful, the government and UAW health care trust would own 89 percent of the company in essence nationalizing the company.

Bottom line, get ready to give more of your money to the government to try to pump into a dead company and supplement "better than you have" health benefits to thousands of its workers as the U. S. Gov't decides what kind of car is best for you, comrade.

100 Million Dollar Budget Reduction!!!!

The resident President recently made big news when he announced a 100 trillion, no not that much, billion, no that's not right, million dollar reduction to his budget. This is "progress" in his "quest" to reduce the deficit by half! 100 Million is quite a lot of money to me and you, so lets look at exactly how this HUGE cut effects his budget...



Well on after thought it may have been more impressive if he hadn't increased the budget so much.

House speaker Pelosi is making all kinds of noise about the "torture" of captured detainees at the hands of u.S. Soldiers. Not the "cut off your head" type as demonstrated on journalist Danny Pearl at the hands of Muslim extremist, not the "break your fingers and then cut off your hands to releive the pain" type as used by pre-liberated Iraqi soldiers, or even the "stone the rape victim by holier than thou" types occurring in ________ (fill in your favorite middle eastern country here).

only problem is, the techniques worked, no one was in danger of dying as in the Muslim style of "torture" as referenced above, and Los Angeles, California was spared the same fate a endured by New York City at the World Trade Center.

Who Are The Cowards In Congress?

Washington, DC -- UK's Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon. “The House Democrats don't want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,” Monckton told Climate Depot in an exclusive interview. “They are cowards.”

Happy Earth Day, Part Two, A Tale of Two Houses...

House #1
A 20 room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400 per month.. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern 'snow belt' area. It's in the South.

House #2
Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university. This house incorporates every 'green' feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground.

The water (usually 67 degrees F) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape. The heating/cooling system is so efficient that initial plans to install solar panels were cancelled.
