With Guantanamo, better know as "Club Gitmo" to most, scheduled to close by the end of the year according to President Obama, news comes than some of the terrorists enemy combatants poor souls have to be relocated to the United States. Some of the men will be released to other countries and will probably return to fighting or be tortured in their home country, but if no suitable and safe "home" can be found they will be relocated to the US where they will probably end up on the dole welfare living off your tax dollars public assistance.

Barack Obama was elected commander in chief promising to run the most transparent presidential administration in American history. This promise of his historic administration caused the National Newspaper Publishers Assn. to name him "Newsmaker of the Year."
The president is to receive the award from the federation of black community newspapers in a White House ceremony this afternoon. The Obama White House has closed the press award ceremony to the press.

Just to remind you about other "broken promises", let's see
1) There will be no "ear marks" in the budget.
2. Bills will be posted for five days so all Americans will be able to see what Congress is voting on.
3. No lobbyists in my administration.
4. I promise to cut the national deficit....

With today's pork filled spending bill, filled with about 9,000 sow's ears ear marks and signed into law today by the man who ran on the promise of "Just Say No To Ear Marks" Congress is now spending your and your descendants tax dollars at the rate of ONE BILLION DOLLARS PER HOUR ! I "hope" this is the "change" you wanted, but for me - no so much.

Tuesday, March 10, the 25 DVD's presented to Mr. Brown were in a format which is incompatible with DVD players in Europe (that's where England is for you graduates of public education). So, Mr. Brown now has a nice set of drink coasters! Isn't that special.

Hail Columbia (House Movie Club)

British PM Gordon Brown had put clearly great thought into giving the U.S. President lavish gifts to signify Britain's 'special relationship' with the U.S. Gifts included an ornamental pen holder made from the timbers of the Victorian anti-slave ship HMS Gannet,once called HMS President.The oak from the HMS Gannet's sister ship, HMS Resolute, was carved to make a desk that already takes place in the Oval Office and was presented by Britain to the US in 1880 and recently was recently a central "clue" in the movie "National Treasure". What a marvelous and appropriate gift for this special occasion!

President Obama in return, gave the PM a "special" set of 25 classic American films on DVD. It is not clear what Mr. Brown thought about receiving the films, since he isn't really much of a movie buff. Downing Street refused even to state which movies were in the box set - perhaps a reflection of their embarrassment that the gift was less generous than the ones taken to Washington by the Prime Minister.

But, after much investigation we can now reveal part to the collections content:
1. Raging Bull - really this is one of the movies
2. Psyco - really this, too, is one of the movies
3. Wizard of OZ - another of the selections
since the entire list wasn't released, we can only speculate on the other selections:
